To alleviate all worries associated with backing up your data, we recommend that stores sign up for Liberty Cloud or Extended Support. These services allow us to handle backing up your database to our off-site location at night. Please contact customer service at 1-800-785-4800 for more information.
Do not use any other backup procedure, software, routine, etc. unless or until you fully understand the methods required to successfully backup Liberty.
The reason for this warning is that Liberty uses a database format known as SQL. SQL requires special procedures be followed in order to backup the database.
Failure to follow these special procedures will cause your backup to fail.
It is important to save your backups to an external source such as en external hard drive, thumb drive, or cloud service. Not having an external working backup means you can lose all of your data.
It is critical that backups be done on a daily basis to protect you from losing data. We have had customers use their software for years while rarely or not backing up at all, only to lose all their data.
