Installing Liberty

The supported operating systems for Liberty, as of the 5 release, are as follows: Windows 7 Pro, Windows 8 Pro, Windows 10, Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2008 Server,  Windows 2012 Server, and Windows 2016 Server. In order to install Liberty, you must be logged in to Windows as an Administrator.

To Check If You Are Logged On As Administrator

1.Open the Windows Control Panel.

2.Open User Accounts in the control panel.

3.On the right side of the screen, the username for the user currently logged into Windows is displayed. The type of account is displayed underneath the account name (Administrator or Standard User). If the current user account is not an Administrator, you will need to log off of Windows and log on with a different account that has Administrative rights.

To Install Liberty from DVD

1.Make sure you are logged into Windows as an Administrator.

2.Close all programs currently running on your computer.

3.Insert the Liberty DVD into the DVD Drive.

4.If the Installation program does not start automatically, you will need to browse the DVD and double-click the installation program.

5.If this is a fresh installation, rather than an update of an earlier version of Liberty, you will be prompted to select whether this computer is to be set up as your Main, or as an Additional Workstation. You only want one Liberty Server (Main) – if this is the only PC or if it is to be the main PC, choose Main. Otherwise, choose Additional Workstation.

6.The remainder of the installation is fully automated. Server Installations can take up to 10 minutes, depending on the speed of your PC. Workstation installations are usually much quicker and can finish in as little as two minutes.

7.It is recommended that you reboot once you have completed installation.

8.Once you have rebooted, you can launch Liberty by double-clicking on the Liberty4 Consignment icon that has been placed on your Desktop.

9.If this is your first time running Liberty, a Setup Wizard will run. Use the Setup Wizard to enter basic information into the software, such as store name, address, price codes and various settings. This information can all be entered or updated later, if necessary.
